PROPHET-LEADER CRAIG GROESCHEL AND AN EVANGELICAL GANGSTA’S PARADISE

As Apprising Ministries continues our monitoring of trends along the Internet Front we’re seeing syncretism slithering into the mainstream such that evidenced by Prophet-Leader Steven Furtick Descends Down To Word Faith Heretic Rod Parsley.

Just remember now, we don’t make up the happenings in apostatizing evangelicalism, we only cover them. Why did I choose to mention prophet-leader Steven Furtick you might wonder; because often he has told us that Craig Groeschel is his pastor, that’s why.

And because you need to understand that there’s a new evangelical magisterium, which in my opinion, can’t wait until men like John MacArthur are out of their way. If you’ve been paying attention then you’ll know the two Elephant Rooms tipped their hand.

For example, in Elephant Room Curator James MacDonald Points Us To A Couple Of Conferences Of Interest I showed you where MacDonald wanted us to be aware of NewSpring Leadership Conference of ER1 vet Perry Noble as well as the Resurgence R12 Conference.

More on that in a moment, but first, did you know that both Perry Noble and Craig Groeschel are contributing authors at the Resurgence blog, which is aligned with the Acts 29 Network where ER1 vet Matt Chandler is now president? Well, they are; just click on their names.

Now let’s look at the lineup for that aforementioned R12 conference and we’ll see ER1 vet Graig Laurie, ER co-hosts James MacDonald and Mark Driscoll, along with Craig Groeschel:

Up until now there hadn’t been a whole lot directly connecting Matt Chandler to this developing evangelical magisterium. However, this past Sunday Macdonald tweeted this:

Chandler’s response now shows where he stands:

Seems these gentlemen know each other quite well by now. Consider now the endorsements for the latest book by James MacDonald. We see two major Church Growth Movement gurus and some all too familiar names:

Bill Hybels, Rick Warren, Craig Groeschel, Mark Driscoll, Matt Chandler, Perry Noble, and Steven Furtick. (source)

Unleashed by Perry Noble features:

His disciple Steven Furtick, his friend Mark Driscoll, Seeker Driven Godfather Rick Warren, Craig Groeschel and Word Faith prosperity preacher Robert Morris. (source)

Then Greater by Furtick comes complete with recommendations by:

Word Faith trinitarian-modalist T.D. Jakes—his favorite preacher—his pastor Craig Groeschel, Word Faith prosperity preachers Jentezen Franklin and pastrix Christine Caine. (source)

A question which should come to mind is: Do we really think that it’s by accident these same guys are endorsing each other’s works and have lately been teaching each other’s followers? After-all:

“Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?” (Amos 3:3)

We can also see that this new breed Seeker Driven/Reformed evangelical magisterium is spreading as a couple of days ago Seeker Driven Major General Ed Young, Jr. would tweet:

The link takes us to MacDonald’s post Congregational Government is From Satan; the interesting thing is, the post’s from 2011. It’s not the place here to argue concerning congregational rule; so I’m only going to point out that it is the crucial form of church government necessary for the prophet-leader to function.

For you see, it works like this. Once he gets his “vision,” supposedly from God, the Seeker Driven prophet-leader will then assemble his court to assist him in then casting that vision before the faithful. So, this is why Chris Rosebrough has asked the key question in this matter: Is Vision-Casting Biblical?

Make the time to go through the materials and the Scripture Rosebrough puts forth and you’ll see the answer is: Absolutely not. In fact, it’s actually occult divination because these visions are extra-biblical. Know this: The door is opened now for very serious spirituals deception to enter as this cancer spreads.

We may now even be seeing this kind of evangelical mysticism slithering into the Reformed camp as well, which I just showed you in The Gospel Coalition And Trevin Wax Now Recommending Richard Rohr? In closing this, for now, here’s a quick peek at worship a la the new evangelical magisterium:
