THE EMERGENCE OF POSTMODERN APOSTLES OF UNBELIEF

DOWN WITH SOLA SCRIPTURA!

RELIGIOUS DOCTRINE ITSELF NO LONGER DUE RESPECT...NEVER AGAIN

Evangelicals Swallowing Reimagined Regurgitated Liberal Theology From Seducing Spirits

As this apostasy continues to spread, it’s past time for the Body of Christ to return from an empty excursion to Wonderland and realize that “Apostles of Unbelief” such as those in this Emergence rebellion against Sola Scriptura like Rob Bell are nothing new.

Consider the following from the prince of preachers Charles Spurgeon circa 1880’s:

Beloved, your risen Lord wants you to be happy. When He was here on earth, He said, “Let not your heart be troubled”; He says just the same to you today. He takes no delight in the distresses of His people. He loves you to believe in Him and be at rest.

Find if you can, beloved, one occasion in which Jesus inculcated doubt or bade men dwell in uncertainty. The apostles of unbelief are everywhere today, and they imagine that they are doing God service by spreading what they call “honest doubt.” This is death to all joy! Poison to all peace! The Savior did not so.

Dr. John MacArthur then put this latest Emergence into a man-centered pseudo-Christianity into its proper perspective when he said:

The Emerging Church Movement is an amorphous sort of loose-knit association of churches that have decided that there is value, there is even virtue in uncertainty about Scripture. The bottom line in the movement is they believe that we aren’t even supposed to understand precisely what the Bible means. And to me, that’s the big issue. It is an attack on the clarity of Scripture and they elevate themselves as if this is some noble reality.

They have finally risen to say we’re honest enough to say, “We don’t know what the Bible really means. We can’t be certain. We are…we’re the truly spiritual ones.” It has overtones of spiritual pride, a false kind of spiritual pride which they call humility. They say, “We’re too humble to say that we know what the Bible means.” The bottom line, I think, in the movement is that it is a denial of the clarity of Scripture. It is a denial that we can know what the Bible really says. (Online source)

Men and women, I’ve said this before, and it sure doesn’t bother me in the least to say it again. This postmodern Emergence skubalon is simply the next logical regression when thinking as men think; and not as God thinks (see—Matthew 16:23). It goes like this: Liberal theology was also known as modern theology.

Those unregenerate dreamers were involved in a futile attempt to harmonize [read: compromise] the Christian faith with the false philosophy of modernism and ended up with what became known as the social gospel. And these are precisely the fools men like Spurgeon were dealing with in the Downgrade Controversy.

So now we have postmodern dreamers like the aforementioned Rob Bell who have come emerging to walk along the very same broad path of centered on the self (see—2 Timothy 3:2) compromise in their futile attempt to harmonize the Christian faith, old liberal theology, with postmodernism—another false philosophy—ending up with a postliberal theology and a repainted version of the social gospel.

But instead of fighting these doctrines of demons as Spurgeon once did, this is exactly what evangelicalism is now joining hands with in a New Downgrade No-Controversy. Think about it; do you ever hear those in this Emergence against the authority of God’s Word like Bell quoting Spurgeon or MacArthur concerning the Gospel?

However, on the other you will often hear them appeal to quasi-Buddists like Ken Wilbur and blatant heretics such as Marcus Borg, who is blinded by his own adherence to liberal theology aka “progressive Christianity.” And quite frankly, in my opinion, if one can’t see this demonic Emergence against the Gospel for what it truly is, it’s likely because they just do not want to.
