Ingrid Schlueter over at Slice of Laodicea, founder of the Christian Research Net which is now a fully integrated auxiliary of Connecticut River Baptist Church through Apprising Ministries, is engaged in battle with Dave Anderson, “pastor Crosspoint Community Church in Decatur, Alabama. Soon to be one of the fastest growing churches in America”, aka “the Movie Pastor”:

Movie Pastor (posted about earlier) returned from his vacation to find that a bunch of “idiots” (his words on his blog) had left him some comments on his blog. He returned the favor on Slice. Here’s what he had to say. “I havent seen knocked up yet – but when I do I’ll let you know how it was.

My wife IS hot. you never read song of Solomon? Good grief. Apparently he thought she was hot – especially when she danced for him in nothing but her sandals. Maybe you shouldnt read it though. God might embarrass you with his vivid description of sex and intimacy.” (Online source)

For those who haven’t been following the issues surrounding the disdain for holiness espoused by the man-loving semi-pelagian so-called “Christ-followers” of the this fetid new evangelicalism you can click here to get up to speed There the interested reader can also follow the parallel issue which also involves another pastor in the emerging church in A Slice of Laodicea: Emerging Church Arts Director Says, “’Knocked-Up’ is a Great Movie”.

You can also go here to a website where you will also see some self-professed new evangelical “teachers” and “watchbloggers” attacking our sister Ingrid as she defends the faith as well. In fact the man who wrote this ridiculous post is actually a member of the Mars Hill Bible Church of Rob Bell. This will give you more indication of the fruit of hatred for the doctrines of grace which is festered in that section of the neo-liberal cult of the Emergent Church.

So for those who have been faithful friends and/or wish to be supporters of Apprising Ministries this is your chance to join me in helping to defend our friend and sister Ingrid. A dear woman who, in a time when most male evangelical leaders only cower behind their desks in fear for their precious reputations, is at least willing to stand up, stand up for Jesus. We at AM and CRN commend you sister Ingrid.

And for those who feel led to answer the call to Internet arms and enter the fray on the comment boards we bless you in the Name of Christ our King. Soli Deo Gloria!

Here’s how the battle ended over at Slice of Laodicea where in typical fashion when dealing with the rotten fruit of the emerging church Ingrid finally had to say:

I am shutting down comments on this post as the pro-moviepastor fans are growing increasingly more vulgar and abusive, as could be expected. I don’t think that engaging in further contact with these kind of people is edifying and helpful. I have stated my position and I stand by it. Enough said.
