WHAT'S GOING ON IN YOUR CHURCH'S YOUTH MINISTRY: KRYSTAL MEYERS

For example meet singer/songwriter/guitarist Krystal Meyers whose bio tells us:

A lot has happened to Krystal Meyers since the release of her self-titled debut album in 2005. The talented teen has graduated from high school, received a Dove nomination for Best New Artist, scored a hit album and has not only become one of the most successful newcomers in the U.S., but has become a sensation in Japan. She’s been on the cover of Nylon and Bounce magazines and knocked the Red Hot Chili Peppers from the top slot to achieve her first No. 1 single in Japan.

It would also seem that:

Her breakthrough hit, “Anticonformity” was written before she entered ninth grade. “I wrote it with my friend Hannah Dwinell at camp,” she says. “I recorded the first version in ninth grade on a camp compilation and it started getting lots of attention. Then we started talking with a label.”

Here you can see the video that JC-TV, an offshoot of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, says “started it all.” Click on “Watch Videos” and it’s video #3. According to Meyers anticonformity means, “becoming the person God wants you to be, and not the person the world wants you to be.” And for another website that will help give you more of an idea of what’s going on in your church’s Youth Ministry go to 1Cubed.com.

Here’s Krystal Waters talking about music ministry at Shoutfest, which were told “is part festival, part church picnic and part crusade.”

And here is Waters ministering in music as she performs her song “Fire” at Cornerstone 2006:
