[Jeshurun] abandoned the God who made him and rejected the Rock his Savior. They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols. They sacrificed to demons, which are not God (Deuteronomy 32:15-17).

Worshiping God The Way They Want God To Be

As Apprising Ministries has been pointing out recently e.g. Phyllis Tickle and the Emerging Church: It’s Not If Sola Scriptura Ends But When the Emerging Church rebellion against the final authority of God’s Word is right now massing for an all-out offensive against the Bible. This cult of postliberalism has had a good 10+ years now in order to inflitrate the leadership structures of your mainstream evangelical community and plant its Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism, which is simply a reimagined version of the Counter Reformation spirituality of apostate Roman Catholicism.

Unfortunately this is itself a judgment from God upon a sad state of affairs with the American Christian Church wherein they erected a “thing”; an idol, that they have called evangelicalism. With it has come a slew of big businesses, oops ministries, that have become the “Evangelical Untouchables.” However, while this Christian elite has been busy having conference after conference in major US cities (ever seen these guys come to Your Town, USA?) telling each other how much they are doing for Christ these wise sages have actually embraced their own demise.

Because meanwhile through its relentless re-education process among younger pastors and ministers the cult of the Emergent Church has been busy redefining Christian terminology just as their liberal forebears did in the original cult of liberalism. Now we have a new form of spiritual idolatry as we are witnessing a world-wide spread of a postevangelicalism rooted in a postmodern theology. I might only be a high school graduate but even I can see it: Liberal theology aka Modern theology has morphed into Postliberal theology aka Postmodern theology.

And the true child of God recognizes that these idols are really not the Christianity of the New Testament at all. However, as the drift away from the authority of Holy Scripture continues in this Emerging Church and postevangelical rebellion against Sola Scriptura can the erecting of altars to Baal and the carving of Asherah poles to be used by this Ecumenical Church of Deceit (ECoD)—duplicious daughter of Satan’s Roman Catholic Church—as “common ground” in their own “interfaith/interspiritual” worship be all that far off?

As long as the Lord tarries you need to know that we will be witnessing a further slide downward toward “wider mercy” and even Christian Universalism by more and more Christian leaders while the attack continues from within the ECoD upon the inerrancy and authority of God’s Word in the Bible. And as it intensifies, it won’t be a long fight, we’ll watch the return to every man did that which was right in his own eyes (Judges 17:6, KJV). You will also see that without the objective truth contained in Holy Scripture mankind’s warped reasoning—bent as it is toward the self—will only continue backing even further away from the doctrine of Hell.

In his book The Church on the Other Side Emerging Church theologian and postmodern proponent Brian McLaren performs his usual “service” of first clouding the issues before he tells us about what he considers to be a very poor example for leading a church. McLaren refers to this dastardly type of pastor as “the know-it-all-Bible-answer-man model.” However, even as McLaren masterfully knocks down his little pet straw men he is only revealing his own bias against the authority of Holy Scripture when he informs us:

This is the leader who led by knowledge, who made life sound so simple if you merely live by “biblical principles”…For him, there was a simple formula for everything,…this kind of leader in the old church gained power through esoteric knowledge…this church leader often promised to remove mystery through research,… Think of—demystified principles and doctrine, even less interesting than microscope slides. (110, emphasis mine)

McLaren then shows us what the flawed philosophy of postmodernism is really all about—rebellion against authority—as the Emergent cult leader says, “in our postmodern world, most of us have come to realize that God, the Bible, life, and Christianity—like Heisenberg’s particles—are wild nonconformists. And we distrust anyone who tries to prove otherwise (111, emphasis mine). Well Guru McLaren, anyone who is a Christian conforms to what Christ says; and anyone–being an all inclusive term–we would now have to include both God the Father and God the Son among those we “distrust.

But Attacking The Veracity Of The Bible Is The Rapid Slide To Apostasy

You see, Christ Himself told us — “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15) and, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3). Oops, we also have to “distrust” God the Holy Spirit too because He inspired — “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13). You may mark my words, throughout history, whenever you see men who have denigrated the Word of God in any way it isn’t long until the Lord abandons them—completely.

Today there is much talk about the apostasy that give an appearance of having only been recently ignited within our Lord’s Church. For many it has suddenly exploded onto the scene as if by a spiritual match tossed onto the gasoline of CSM, with its critical thinking skills-paralyzing and highly existential vehicle of Contemplative/Centering Prayer, which the Devil has been busy saturating throughout the very dry forest of intellectual evangelical churchianity so easily passing for Christianity these days in alleged postmodern [read: relativistic] America.

But I offer however, that this apostasy has actually been slowly burning for years and now the Holy Spirit is simply blowing it throughout the Body of Christ. And so it is just now spreading within the American Christian Church as quickly an Oklahoma wildfire in order to burn out the deleterious driftwood now wasting our Father’s precious resources. For those listening to the Voice of the Spirit know that very rough spiritual waters lie dead ahead because we are beginning to witness 1 Peter 4:17 judgments as Christ begins shaking His Church.

Men and women, you hear me; and hear me good. The time has come in the American Christian Church for division; for a reformation every bit the same as when Luther stood hammer in hand. Since my time is looking as if it’s nearing an end I’ll simply say that someone must arise and declare that there is no way to harmonize what you will hear in the following sermon from Dr. John MacArthur with the egregiously ecumenical postliberal cult of the Emerging Church and postevangelicalism, which is right now completely swallowing up centered on the self semi-pelagian evangelicalism.

Know this, there can be no compromise with men preaching the human potential garbage of Erwin McManus or with quasi-Christian Universalism like Rob Bell or with his highness Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren. And tragically going unnoticed within squishy evanjellyfish right now is what can only be called The New Downgrade No-Controversy. Well, I for one want nothing to do with this damnable and despicable religiousity currently passing for the genuine Christian faith, and especially not as it begins to fully embrace apostate Roman Catholicism as a “Christian” tradition.

And here we arrive at the very heart of the matter: The Emerging Church of postevangelicalism must attack Sola Scriptura because God’s Word exposes its own lust of the self (see—2 Timothy 3:2). If it’s ever to realize its utopian dream of the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man then it must attempt to reverse the Lord’s Reformation with its proper Bibliology. So with this in mind, I take my leave with the following words from an excellent and prophetic sermon The Pope and the Papacy by Dr. MacArthur, a real man of God:

I want to talk about the Pope himself, and then talk about the Papacy in general. I’m going to tell you at the beginning what is at stake because of what I am going to say will surely offend those who are devout Catholics. It will surely offend those who believe that Catholics are brothers and sisters in Christ. Some will read it as unkind and unloving but nothing is more loving than the truth. To let somebody perish in a false system isn’t loving at all. To rescue people out of a damning and false religion is the only loving thing to do…

Oh, they’ve got a clever system. How to preserve error. How to perpetuate error. Make heresy infallible. And the arch heretic unassailable, ir-reformable and absolutely authoritative. It is possible that the final Antichrist could be a Pope because the final Antichrist will be a dominating world leader. He will be not subject to any other world leader. He will be an imitation of Christ, an anti-Christ, a pseudo-Christ. He will have international power. He will be a Gentile. And his system seems, in the book of Revelation chapter 17, to be headed up in Rome. If the Pope can fool evangelicals, it seems to me that the Antichrist won’t have much trouble doing the same with the world. (Online source)

In the midst of the cacophony ensuing in the many spiritual firefights those of us in Special Ops along the Internet Front must engage in during this spiritual Vietnam of a Truth War, we who work largely unnoticed and definitely unappreciated, so often look back to ministries like that of John MacArthur for our balance; and also to remind us that we are not alone. Soli Deo Gloria! Even though we are so outnumbered by this self-elected elite of American evangelicalism I admonish you my fellow soldier let us ride to the sound of the enemy guns!

Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the Day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. (Joel 3:13-14, KJV)
