EPISCOPAL MISSION CONFERENCE ZONES IN ON CONVERSION…BUT CONVERSION TO WHAT?

Apprising Ministries points you to this piece from Christian Post you’ll get a good picture of the absolutely backward approach to “missions” so prevalent in what is passing for the Christian Church in the world today. Specifically this is the spiritually petrifying Anglican Church:

An Episcopal mission conference that concluded on Sunday offered different perspectives on the conversion process, including tips on how to work with Muslims… The Rev. Mike Kinman, executive director of Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation, spoke about a “conversion about liberation…from what holds us most tightly in its grasp” on the opening day of the June 5-8 conference, according to Episcopal News Service.

On day two of the conference, the Rev. Paul-Gordon Chandler, an Episcopal missionary and author, spoke about working with Muslims. He urged participants to “bridge this chasm of misunderstanding” between Christianity and Islam by not focusing on converting the Muslim, but rather to form an interfaith friendship that explores the commonality between the two faiths…

The Episcopal missionary recommended Christians to use the Five Pillars of Islam to introduce the common religious heritage between Christianity and Islam when approaching Muslims. The central common factor is that Jesus was a Middle Eastern man whom Islam reveres. The five pillars consist of: Shahadah – sincerely reciting the Muslim profession of faith; Salat – performing ritual prayers in the proper way five times each day; Zakat – paying an alms (or charity) to benefit the poor and the needy; Sawm – fasting during the month of Ramadan; and Hajj – pilgrimage to Mecca…

Sure, that’s what we need to do to “reach” people for…um, “God” — whatever that is to these people because this sure isn’t the LORD God Almighty of the Bible they’re talking about — we need to study the very best ways to make sacrifices to demons. Wake up call: This is exactly what practicing Muslims, and all those in false religions, are actually doing. But the reason the Church has gotten this messed up is we are now reaping the rotten fruit of The Cult of Guru Richard Foster and his seriously spurious Spiritual Formation.

Due to years now of this stupid “spiritual formation” blether in their training courses I’m afraid that deep inside their “true self” mystic missionaries believe like deceased apostate Roman Catholic priest Henri Nouwen. And the eternally tragic fact is these mystics are nothing more than social workers using Christian terms which they have since redefined:

Today I personally believe that Jesus came to open the door to God’s house, all human beings can walk through that door, whether they know about Jesus or not. Today I see it as my call to help every person claim his or her way to God.
