ROB BELL LIBERALISM SHOWING


Pastor Bob DeWaay has correctly stated, “the key unifying theological perspective of the [emerging church] movement [is] theological liberalism.” And the following quote below from Rob Bell could have come from liberal and/or “progressive Christians” like Harry Emerson Fosdick, Marcus Borg, or Brian McLaren.

As a matter of fact in the Apprising Ministries piece Jesus And Buddha: A Christian View you will see Marcus Borg inform us: “Jesus was killed, his life cut short because he was a social prophet.” However, this erroneous idea of Jesus the social reformer would not have come from preachers of the genuine Gospel of Jesus Christ such as Jonathan Edwards, Charles Spurgeon or John MacArthur.

For you see, the Truth is Christ was crucified because He challenged the “kingdom” of man’s totally depraved sinful nature. But Rob Bell says:

Jesus was killed because of how He confronted a particular socioeconomic religious system. He’s a first-century Galilean revolutionary who proclaimed a Kingdom other than the kingdom of Herod,… (Online source)

But the LORD was pleased, To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days,  And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.
(Isaiah 53:10)
