THE LIVING ROOM EMERGING CHURCH GATHERINGS AND WICCAN GATHERINGS

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21, KJV)

Works Of The Flesh In Corrupt Spiritual Pods

At the website for The Living Room, home of the UnChurch blog we are informed:

Dave Parker, host to the Living Room gatherings, offered his view on what the Living Room is and why it might be different than how many people define church… Dave Parker’s short video (about 5 minutes long) goes into some details and some vague thoughts on why the new generation isn’t interested in church and what church should look like. Many churches try to offer conversations but instead offer their message in only one direction. Others try to build community…

The Living Room isn’t about any of these things, instead it is a group of completely different people who meet to do only one thing in an excellent way — converse with one another about life’s ups and downs in order to seek a Truth that is actually pertinent to each individual within the group (Online source, emphasis mine).

Now here’s Dave Parker’s “dream” for the emerging church:

You know this got me to thinking, which of course in my case can be dangerous; since this “gathering” of the Emergent Church rebellion against the Bible is a work of the flesh they just might find “common ground” with another group which also has gatherings, the Witches practicing Wicca.

Since there are a growing number of people ignoring my warnings about this new cult of liberal theology and who are instead interested in pursuing spiritual suicide here is some pertinent contact information from the Children of Artemis: Witchcraft & Wicca “News Page.” Looks like they are tuned into that same “dream” as good ol’ deceived Dave:

Local Gatherings

We are helping our members set up local gatherings to discuss Wicca, socialize, and generally have a good time. The first gathering has already been established in South London, others will follow shortly. Please email us if you would like to attend or would like to help organize a gathering in your area (Online source).

Hey, now we’re also told, “We are helping our members set up local gatherings in a Pub, Bar or Café,” so it sure seems like a natural fit for the emerging church. I’m sure there’ll also be plenty of cussing too to make our Emergents feel all the more relevant. Then in July we’re told there’s Lammas Solstice Sabbat, an upcoming “Witchfest” in London:

Celebrate the ancient festivals in the friendly atmosphere of a Children of Artemis Witches Sabbat. This is an open ritual held at every festival… There will be a fascinating introductory talk on each festival and the meaning of the ritual itself. The experienced ritual team will then perform a traditional style Witchcraft/Wiccan which you are invited to participate in (Online source)

Wow-ee! Maybe they can even get distinguished futurist and cultural architect Erwin Raphael McManus away from his Mosaic gatherings long enough to tell them some cool stories about Celtic barbarians. O, and I’m guessing here that this “ritual team” of Witches would be more than delighted to have a guest rabbi wannabe like Rob Bell take a break from his gatherings at Mars Hill Bible Church so he can regale them with some of his first century Jewish fantasies as well.
