ERWIN MCMANUS IS AGAINST THE APOSTLE PETER

Erwin McManus:

“My goal is to destroy Christianity as a world religion and be a recatalyst for the movement of Jesus Christ,” McManus, author of a new book called “The Barbarian Way,” said in a telephone interview. “Some people are upset with me because it sounds like I’m anti-Christian. I think they might be right.”

The author recording the quote above in the Christian Examiner then says, “On paper it can sound flippant, arrogant and somewhat blasphemous.” That’s because in typical Erwin McManus bravado it is flippant and arrogant, not to mention just plain stupid. Because Simon Peter, an Apostle of Christ Jesus, who risked far more than Erwin’s big and blustery talk–even giving his very life as a Christian said:

Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name. (1 Peter 4:15-16, NASB)

And here in this article Why Christians Suck is an example of the “flippant, arrogant and somewhat blasphemous” Emergent fruit this attack on Biblical Christianity produces. How much longer must weak-willed people be taken in by these foolish Emergent self-proclaimed “Christ-followers”? Translation: rejecters of Biblical Christianity. The answer lies in the rest of this passage from Peter. Halleujah, let our God arise:

For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER? Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right. (vv.17-19)

Even so, come Lord Jesus as the Refiner’s fire. Soli Deo gloria!
