EMERGENT INCLUSIVNESS AND BRIAN MCLAREN

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. 15″Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.” (Matthew 23:13,15)

The Emergent Influence Spreads To Mainline Denominations

One of the most prominent leaders within the Ecumenical Church of Deceit is Emergent leader Brian McLaren. McLaren is slated as plenary speaker at Going Forward Together: Third Millennium Christianity taking place November 16-19, 2006 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia.

Lord willing I’ll have more on this later but for now I have been trying to warn the Body of Christ about this neo-liberal cult of the Emergent Church which is attempting to bring inclusivism into the Lord’s Church. Years ago Dr. Walter Martin preached a message called The Spirit of the Age in which he said the spirit of the age was universalism. It turns out Martin was right and as he further warned that it is “actually quite hostile to the historic orthodox Christian faith.”

As proof let’s consider the following from the Mission Document of this upcoming pseudo love fest:

This gathering of minds and hearts seeks to understand the nature of Christianity as it is emerging in the Third Millennium. Many contend that we are in the midst of a reformation that has caused some turmoil and disorientation, but that also holds enormous promise.

It shouldn’t be hard to see the growing influence of the Emergent section of the emerging church movement as it aligns itself with rapidly apostatizing denominations like the Episcopal Church. These who are falling away are actually the “many” who “contend,” or more appropriately indoctrinate, this bad dream that “we are in the midst of a reformation.” Well, they are right in a sense. There is a new reformation away from historic doctrine and toward reconciliation with the apostate Church of Rome.

Subjective Anything Goes “Christianity”

Next we see the attack continue on sola Scriptura as the document says:

Even as Christians today wrestle with the question of authority, congregations are discovering new ways forward, beyond the sometimes divisive debates that characterize much of society.

If you wish to be of use to the Master in this Age you had best be able to recognize that these vipers hate the Word of God. No authentic Christians “wrestle” with “the question of authority” because the Holy Spirit within us gives us a love and reverence for the Bible as we bring glory to God when we willingly obey Jesus Christ our Lord. We have no trouble bowing before our Master’s authority in Holy Scripture.

A true child of God is not looking for any “new ways” because we hear the Voice of the Great Shepherd as He is telling us right now – Thus says the LORD, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls” (Jeremiah 6:16, NASB). And the “divisive debates” they refer to are men like me who refuse to compromise doctrine for the sake of their wrong understanding of love.

Unity Through Contemplative Spirituality

And finally we see a return to heretical practices of so-called “Christian” mysticism which originated with apostate Rome:

Already, many mainline churches are experiencing newfound vitality through the recovery of ancient spiritual practices, and a movement known as the “emerging” church is generating worship and theology that some believe is harkening back to the experiences of the earliest Christians. What is going on, and how did we get to this point?

The answer to the last question is simple: We reimagined a Christianity where authority rests in the highly subjective experiences produced by Contemplative Spirituality and not in the Scriptures. Notice the dead giveaway in that “mainline chuches” have embraced these heretical “ancient spiritual practices.” How? They booted the Bible out of their lives years ago and instead they now treat God’s Word as if it’s a love story by Janette Oke.

And notice the infestation of the Hollow Men of the Emergent Church into the vacuum that was created as the Holy Spirit withdrew from their midst. In rushed the Devil to expand this pillar of his ECoD by welding Emergent to these dead mainline churches. But we are not seeing a “harkening back” to true Christianity, what is happening through Contemplative practices like Centering Prayer is a repainted Gnostic mysticism comes emerging using our Christian terminology.

Men and women, it really isn’t that hard to figure out. If you were Satan wouldn’t you just give these pawns in your counterfeit denominations and false religions the same “experiences?” Then as they get together and compare notes what happens next is:

In addition, the need for Western churches to understand and engage with their Christian and interfaith counterparts in the two-thirds world is greater than ever. Recognizing that religious faith has been exploited by destructive and extremist elements, the moderate center is awakening to an important calling.

There is a growing sense of urgency and possibility about parish churches leading the way in the work of reconciliation and mission world-wide, crossing denominational and traditional religious boundaries.

Inclusivism Paves The Way For Universalism

And now the inclusivism which lays the foundation for the universalism to come emerges with these apostate mainline “interfaith” denominations. Once we get rid of the exclusivity of the actual Gospel of Jesus Christ faithfully preached by the historic orthodox Christian Church we make way for “interfaith/interspiritual” dialogues. But what these fools forget is that the Christian faith is not a mere philosophical and intellectual exercise, it is a relationship with an other-dimensional Spirit.

The moment you are born again you are immediately thrust into a spiritual war He is in with malignant spiritual beings who would like nothing better than to destroy you. Since God expressly tells the Christian in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 not to yoke themselves within unbelievers this Emergent inclusive interfaith dialogue is only arousing the ire of the Almighty. Because what it always ends up as is “religious faith.”

Did you catch how they’ve dropped the Christian faith and it becomes “religious” instead? However, in order to include other faiths (read: religions) we now have to deemphasize the exclusiveness of the Gospel itself. And then they inform us that this new evangelical religion is being “exploited by destructive and extremist elements.” Any guesses just who this might be? Emergent theologian Scot McKnight calls them “neo-fundamentalists.” But what they are really talking about are those of us who happen to hold the reformed Doctrines of Grace.

Sure we see Biblical language in “the work of reconciliation” but here we’re not talking about 2 Corinthians 5:18 – All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. Calling people to surrender their lives in total obedience to Christ Jesus and then turning their back on previously held religious beliefs, and yes, even their very own families if necessary to follow the Master through His Word in the Bible whether their culture likes it or not.

Let’s face it if apostles were preaching this kind of emerging inclusivism of Brian McLaren’s generous deception they wouldn’t have been killed. It just doesn’t wash for the thinking person. No, what we are being sold here is bankrupt bill of spiritual goods. An interfaith and interspiritual compromise of Christian doctrine in order that this new universal religion will spread “world-wide” and continue “crossing denominational and traditional religious boundaries.”

What we are witnessing right now is a new evangelical religion being pumped into the hollow shell of Christianity left after the neo-liberal cult of the Emergent Church and mainline denominations–killed by the original liberal theology of their forebears–are pumping out all of the true meaning of our terminology. And while they do evangelical leaders only stand there watching as the “religious polarization” of “a new common ground is emerging where deeper religious understanding and broader engagement” with apostate denominations and pagan religions will ultimately lead to their coming out and together openly preaching universalism to the world.
