GAY MARRIAGE: BACKLASH AGAINST ANGLICAN LEADER EXPECTED

Apprising Ministries has been warning you that there’s a very dark and threatening same-sex storm right now approaching hurricane force, and which is currently only slightly off the coast of the mainstream evangelical community. You need to realize that the egregiously ecumenical Emerging Church aka Emergent Church—morphing into Emergence Christianity—(EC) is right now working to make affirming homosexuality an issue within your own mainstream evangelical church.

A case in point would be the following from EC leader  Tony Jones. I’ve pointed out before that Jones just happens to be among those in the EC who are going to make this happen because mainstream evangelicalism is seemingly completely bereft of leaders with the discerment—and the courage—to confront this growing gay lobby, which arrived within its walls via the Trojan Horse of the EC. It’s my personal opinion that’s why Emerging Church Guru Brian McLaren originally called for his 5 year moratorium concerning homosexuality.

They have been waiting for signs that their propaganda conversation had taken root deeply enough within apostatizing evangelicalism to open fire with their open acceptance of the deviant GLBTQ lifestyle as a viable option for the Christian. This brings full circle to what Jones says below. While describing his time as a teacher at the widely respected Cornerstone youth festival, along with fellow heretic Phyllis Tickle—Empress of Emergence—Jones prophesies:

I will say this: I think we can see Cornerstone as a sort of belwether of evangelicalism. Five and ten years ago, the seminar tents were populated with seminars on modern, evidential apologetics (Norman Geisler was a name I heard a lot) and pro-life stragegy sessions. Today, the seminars are on creation care, developing new monastic communities, centering prayer, and human rights. Phyllis Tickle and I talked about the great emergence.

And, for the first time at Cornerstone, Christians who favor gay rights and GLBT inclusion in the church were allowed to speak alongside those from “ex-gay” ministries. This is the shift that’s taking place in evangelicalism, people. Get ready for it. (Online source, bold his)

This is what you need to keep in mind as you read the following One News Now story cited below. The point is, the Episcopal Church is a vivid picture of what will be taking place even within—thought to be conservative—evangelical denominations already corrupted by those within the EC, and sooner than you may even think:

Homosexual-rights activists are exasperated over comments by a Church of England bishop. Recently, Archbishop of Rochester Michael Nazir-Ali said the Bible defined marriage as the union of a man and a woman. He added that while the church welcomes homosexuals, they need to repent and be changed.

Nazir-Ali’s comments ignited a firestorm of controversy throughout the United Kingdom. Mark Tooley, president of the Institute on Religion & Democracy, says the backlash against the bishop’s remarks was expected… (Online source)

But here, at the very heart, is the deal for gay rights leaders and homopressive gay affirming “pastors” like Jay Bakker—1) all Scripture is inspired by God; 2) Jesus is God, therefore 3) what God says in Scripture, Jesus says.

Now, following is what Jesus—the Creator God Himself in human flesh—was recorded by Matthew, who’s an eyewitness—also under the inspiration of God. And, in addition, keep in mind here that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is informing us as an eyewitness (at the very least) to the event in question:

“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?” (Matthew 19:4-5, NASB)

So, above we have the Biblical definition i.e. the Creator God’s definition of marriage. No way around the text: A man (male) joined to his (male) wife (female)—marriage is between a man and a woman. There’s very good reason why someone like Jay Bakker will not meet Chris Rosebrough for any public debate, which I discuss further in Fearful Jay Bakker.

The bottom line is this: The argument for gay marriage cannot be made from the Bible. Even  in a debate with Dr. Walter Martin circa 1985 John Shelby Spong has already admitted that, “I do not disagree that homosexuality is condemned in Scripture,” as I showed in the AM piece Why No Condemnation For Christians Who Are Homopressive?
