Long before there was even a thought of an Apprising Ministries I was discipled as a young Christian by a very godly assistant pastor we called Chib who happened to be from Nigeria. And so I found personally found this eyewitness review referenced below from one of the stops of emerging church pastor Rob Bell on his recent tour to be quite interesting:

I was fortunate enough to be able to go and see Rob Bell speak at an event he calls “the gods aren’t [sic] angry”. I went with my brother, my brother insisted on the way there that I was making a big deal out of this whole Rob Bell thing...I stated it was more serious then he thought...

Rob Bell came out to a applause, not greeting the audience or introducing himself but immediately sucking you in to his incredibly brilliant and captivating story telling methods... One thing is clear, Rob Bell is heavy on universalism. You see According to Rob Bell Jesus died to save us not from hell, but from guilt so we can have peace. (Online source)

Kind of odd, isn’t it, how so many of us seem to get this from Emergent Church leaders like Rob Bell. Case in point is “The god’s May Not Be Angry, but Has Rob Bell Went Mad?” from Reformed Evangelist. Paul Kaiser introduces yet another eyewitness review of Bell’s recent tour originally posted by Jon Speed. Concerning the universalism within Bell’s non-gospel musings Speed will point out, “Whatever Rob Bell is teaching, it is not orthodox Christianity.”

In his introduction to this piece Kaiser says:

With the ever growing following of Bell and others of his like in the Evangelical community it is becoming increasingly more important that we as Bible believing Christians are able to refute and give strong answers to the false teaching coming from their pulpits. With that said I offer you this excellent review from someone who has heard it from the horse’s mouth... (Online source)
